$26 Hot Dog Gives The Strasburger A Run For Its Money
Along with the 8,000-calorie, 8-pound Strasburger, sports fans now have another outrageous meal to chow down on.
The Texas Rangers Ballpark is serving up a 2-foot-long, 1-pound gourmet hot dog for $26. At the Captain Morgan Club, it'll go by the fancier name the "Champion Dog," but in the stands, fans will be paying homage to slugger Nelson Cruz with the name "Boomstick."
"It has to be a tremendous wiener. And then we're getting some kind of exotic bread flown in from France. And I don't know what kind of condiments you put on that. But I do want to look at it," team president Nolan Ryan told ESPN.
Just be glad it's not named the Cruz Dog, or something with a pun. It's much better than getting a sandwich named "Jetbow," although " corned beef, pastrami, roast beef, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato on white bread" does sound delicious.
