Home Decorator Gives Kitchen A Fall Touch With This Dollar Tree DIY
Festive fall tablecloths are perfect for effortlessly lending a dining room a touch of cozy character when the seasons change. However, if you want to carry that toasty feeling into the kitchen too, there's an easy way to give your cooking space a similar fall touch with a simple Dollar Tree DIY, which was showcased in a video from TikTok user It's_Windeth. All you need are an assortment of individual fall leaves and a few leaf garlands to transform your kitchen into an autumnal oasis that mirrors the vibrancy of the outdoor foliage just beyond your window. Dollar Tree's collection of harvest-themed maple leaves come in packs of six and cost $1.50.
Each leaf is a different texture and fall color, from yellow and gold to red and russet, providing plenty of variation. Plus, they have a realistic look courtesy of the lifelike veins etched into the surface. To get started, apply some sticky tack to the back of each leaf and affix them to your upper or lower cabinetry, to give your kitchen a quick and cozy (but temporary) makeover. You can stick several leaves together to create an eye-catching bundle, place a single one on each cupboard, or run a line of them down the length of your pantry door, depending on your sense of style. As the assorted collection of leaves is so affordable, you can even purchase several packets if you have a larger kitchen with lots of storage space to decorate.
Place maple leaf garlands over your upper cabinets
Dollar Tree also stocks a 5ft maple leaf garland for $1.50 that's perfect for laying across the crown molding at the top of your kitchen cabinets. For this trick, you won't need to use any sticky tack or fixings, since you can simply spread the garland out across the top of your line of cupboards to create a pretty overhanging focal point for your kitchen. The garlands can also be hung across window ledges, tacked over window frames and mirrors, or placed over a mantel if you're lucky enough to have a rustic fireplace in your open-plan kitchen.
Stick them down with more tack or hang them on adhesive hooks to create a straight or swirled pattern. Another simple, cozy way to transform a kitchen for fall is to paint the windowsill in a striking autumnal color, like a burnt orange or yellow. If that sounds like too much of a commitment, you could create some smaller, fall-style focal points on your countertop instead, such as a collection of pine cones or ceramic pumpkins. Then, simply scatter a couple of Dollar Tree kitchen must-haves for fall to finish the look, such as a seasonal candle that captures that fall aroma or quirky dish sponges shaped like acorns.
