Costco Shoppers Are Divided Over These Crust-Less Mini Cheesecakes

And it's not surprising that people gravitate toward the warehouse store to do their grocery shopping. Costco offers a variety of items in bulk at a competitive price. Costco has a variety of desserts and baked goods, ranging from croissants and cookies to cakes and pies. Instagram account @costcobuys and TikTok account @costcofoodreviews have amassed hundreds of thousands of followers from sharing the latest Costco finds and reviews. The latest dessert find, however, is gaining mixed reactions from Costco shoppers.
The Junior's cheesecake garnered mixed reviews
Junior's mini cheesecakes comes in boxes of 24, according to an Instagram post uploaded by @costcohotfinds. For $19.99, shoppers can nosh on three different cheesecake flavors: original, chocolate swirl, and strawberry swirl. In an Instagram Reel posted in November 2021 by @costcohotfinds, the account raved about the mini Junior's cheesecakes' taste and calorie count (140 calories or less per serving). "They're just the right size and taste super rich and creamy," read the caption.
However, in a separate post, the reactions in the comments were more bitter than sweet. While many of the comments praised the dessert, a few criticized the taste, especially about the lack of crust. "A crust would make them so much better," one user commented. "Who makes crust less cheesecake??"
TikTok user @costcofoodreviews gave the mini cheesecakes a rating of nine out of 10 but said they would be better with a bottom crust. And many TikTokers agreed. "Crust is a must with cheesecake though," one person commented. "It's such an important part." Another user commented that the treats "would be perfect" for them as they don't like crust.

New York City restaurant Junior's boasts itself as home to the world's most famous cheesecake, having been featured in the "Sex and the City" movie and visited by presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Junior's serves New York-style cheesecake, which typically consists of a lot of heavy cream, resulting in a dense and rich texture. So when boxes of Junior's Mini Cheesecakes were found in the Costco freezer section, it's no surprise that people came flocking to the internet to dish out their thoughts.
