The Restaurants Martha Stewart Can't Get Enough Of

Martha Stewart, the queen of media and queen of the good life, surprised some people when she opened her first restaurant, at the age of 81, no less, in Las Vegas. "Sin City” might seem like a peculiar choice for The Bedford, a 195-seat restaurant at the Paris Las Vegas hotel that takes its soothing, farmhouse-chic cues from Stewart's sprawling 1925 farmhouse in Bedford, New York, about an hour north of New York City (per Delish). The cookbook author, magazine publisher, and fixture of food TV has long been associated with Connecticut (think her former home, Turkey Hill) and New York, especially Westchester County, the Hamptons, and Manhattan, where she and her team work when they're not working from home (per The Martha Blog) and where she used to keep a couple of places to crash (per Martha Stewart).

Maybe it's a high-powered working person cliche, but we picture Stewart grabbing her coat and briefcase and heading out for a drink and dinner in the city, or taking in a Broadway play after a day at the office. Stewart relishes dining out in the city and doesn't hesitate to share her favorites with fans.

Stewart says 'oui' to Le Bernardin

Martha Stewart no doubt receives an inbox full of invitations to restaurant events, and who wouldn't want to set a place and make a table card for her? The food luminary and media mogul attended the 50th-anniversary celebration for Le Bernardin, the Michelin-starred restaurant owned by Eric Ripert, one of the most famous chefs in the world, and Maguy Le Coze — and shared photos with her millions of followers on Instagram. In photos and words, Stewart described the pleasure of dining at "this incredible restaurant,” and thanked Ripert and Le Coze for the "amazing dinner” built around a quartet of their seafood specialties (tuna foie gras, langoustines, monkfish, and halibut), capped off with stellar desserts. But of course, there was a wine pairing with each course.

Stewart went into even more detail about the 50th-anniversary party in Le Bernardin's private space on The Martha Blog. "For those of you who haven't yet been to Le Bernardin, the next time you're in New York City, please consider a visit — you will love it,” she enthused.

Other NYC restaurants Stewart has on speed dial

When Martha Stewart isn't cooking in her home kitchen or test kitchens, she definitely likes to bite the Big Apple and its restaurants. Beyond longtime favorite Le Bernardin, the businesswoman has a few places of interest on her radar (per New York Post). One go-to is Perry Street, an uber-modern and sophisticated bar and restaurant in the West Village owned by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. It's described as a melting pot of American, French, and Asian flavor profiles (per its website). Yelp gives this restaurant mostly high marks for food, presentation, and service. "This was definitely my favorite meal of my recent trip and one of the best meals I've had in NYC,” says one Yelper.

When she has a hankering for sushi, Stewart leans into Sushi Yasuda, which is known for sashimi, sushi, and omakase — a sort of chef's table of sushi that's customized to suit diners and the flavors and ingredients they like best (per its website). And when she wants to be bathed in the amore of innovative, Michelin-starred Italian cuisine, Stewart makes arrangements to dine at "the hot spot” that is Don Angie.
