The TikTok Tortilla Hack Perfect For Taco Night

If you're at all familiar with TikTok, seeing videos go viral is nothing new. While some of these viral videos don't necessarily provide much — if any — life knowledge to the viewer, others definitely can. And if you're a foodie, your algorithm might start showing cooking, and baking tips to make your life easier, both in and out of the kitchen. A simple search of #CookTok will reveal these crazily amazing videos to you should you desire, uncovering thousands upon thousands of easy recipes and kitchen hacks to keep your game up-to-speed.

Throughout the years, we've loved learning from these videos ourselves. From learning how to make food last longer, bringing stale cereal back to life, easy meal prep hacks, and more, there's never a shortage of new information to come by.

The latest TikTok food hack taking the world by storm includes leveling up your tortilla and taco shell game on Taco Tuesday.

Microwave magic

Have you ever started prepping for Taco Night, only to find soft tortillas in your pantry with no hard shells? Then, of course, come all the moans and groans from the family members who prefer hard shelled tacos over the soft tortilla "burrito" style ones. But if you have a microwave in your kitchen, you're in luck. According to TikTok star Armen Adamjan, you can easily turn soft tortillas into "homemade" hard shells for tacos in one minute just by using your microwave.

To do this, Adamjan shows his five million followers that all they need is a microwave-safe cup. Placing the tortilla inside the cup allows it to retain the raised side shape that hard shells have. By putting this inside the microwave for 30 seconds to one minute, you'll be left with a perfectly crisped, hard-shelled tortilla. The whole thing is pretty genius, if you ask us.

A nationally recognized cooking hack

Because Armen Adamjan's microwave tortilla hack was so popular — gaining close to 30,000 likes and 2,000 shares on TikTok alone — he went on to share the hack on national television. The TikTok star shared his expertise in the cooking world on the "Today" show in September.

The four-and-a-half-minute segment featured Adamjan sharing his well-received tortilla-turned-hard-shell hack on live television, even surprising "Today" host Craig Melvin when it came out perfectly crispy and crunchy. Along with his tortilla hack, Adamjan showed off six additional hacks, including how to make lettuce, scallions, cucumbers, and asparagus last longer, a sure-in method to hull strawberries, a trick for grating herbs, and how to prevent water from boiling over the pot.

Adamjan's TikTok hacks join thousands of other viral food trends in showing the world that the kitchen can be an easy, fun room to be in, all while making cooking and baking a breeze.
