Wolfgang Puck Opens Pizza Bar
Wolfgang Puck is launching a new casual dining chain called Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar. The first test restaurant opened in Charlotte, N.C., last week, one of four planned test restaurants.
The restaurant will feature soups, salads, appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, and some grilled dishes. Of course, the main attraction will be the pizza, made from artisan dough that takes nine days to create, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
The second test unit is currently under construction in Greensboro, N.C., and the two other prospective locations will open in San Diego and Palm Desert, Calif.
Pizza Bar is only open for dinner at the moment, with average checks ranging from $24 to $26. When the restaurants open for lunch in August, the lunch check average will be between $16 and $22.
Wolfgang Puck has approximately 66 Express restaurants located around the nation, with many of them in airports. He also has three bistro locations, but they are more upscale than Pizza Bar will be, according to Joe Essa, managing partner of Wolfgang Puck Worldwide.
“Wolfgang has always wanted to find a casual-dining concept that reflected his brand of quality dining and hospitality, but at a lower price point,” Essa said, “and we think this is it.”
