Where Does Your Food Come From? Ask Your Farm App

An app from the new Atlanta-based company, Farm Star Living, is designed to keep you on track when it comes to farm-to-table dining, and keep Americans aware of the who, what, where, and how behind their food.

"When I took over my family farm, I felt the distance and disconnect between farmers and the people they serve," said Farm Star Living founder Mary Blackmon. "I want to help bridge that gap and make farmers more accessible."

The app will give users access to a list of farm-to-table restaurants across the country, as well as insight on the farms themselves, and the evolving relationships between chefs and local farmers. Farm Star Living will also provide information on produce as it comes into season, along with recipes and kitchen trends. For Americans who are truly dedicated to the loca-vore movement, the Farm Star Living app will be a useful guide to eating out and staying in touch with food sources.

Finally, the app also includes a 'Farm Fun' component, which allows families to plan trips to farms that offer fun activities and resources, including petting zoos, hay rides, tours, bed and breakfasts, and more.
