Week Two of Greenmarket to Gotham

Migliorelli Farm brings fresh food to New York City bar and grill lunch prefix menu

Farm-fresh food comes to revered Gotham Bar & Grill

Summer 2012 marks the third annual Greenmarket to Gotham program — 12 weeks of innovative prefix lunch menus featuring farm fresh food from Gotham Bar & Grill’s favorite farms with five percent of all proceeds going to support GrowNYC’s public school initiatives.

This week, the $25, 2-course, all-vegetarian menu sources produce from Union Square Greenmarket purveyor Migliorelli Farm, a family-run fruit and vegetable farm of Duchess County, N.Y.

The weekly menus, while healthy and simple in their ingredient lists, promise a complex gustatory experience in their incorporation of out-of-the-ordinary produce — like stuffed zucchini blossoms found on last week’s menu — and new takes on presentation and form as seen in the sunchoke custard on this week’s menu.

See this week’s full menu below:

Strawberry arugula salad with shaved turnips, radish and almonds, pepato pecorino and a wine vinaigrette

Roasted sunchoke and baby vegetables with sunchoke custard, spring onion, Thumbelina carrots, spice yogurt and lentil salad
