Week Two of Greenmarket to Gotham
Summer 2012 marks the third annual Greenmarket to Gotham program — 12 weeks of innovative prefix lunch menus featuring farm fresh food from Gotham Bar & Grill’s favorite farms with five percent of all proceeds going to support GrowNYC’s public school initiatives.
This week, the $25, 2-course, all-vegetarian menu sources produce from Union Square Greenmarket purveyor Migliorelli Farm, a family-run fruit and vegetable farm of Duchess County, N.Y.
The weekly menus, while healthy and simple in their ingredient lists, promise a complex gustatory experience in their incorporation of out-of-the-ordinary produce — like stuffed zucchini blossoms found on last week’s menu — and new takes on presentation and form as seen in the sunchoke custard on this week’s menu.

Roasted sunchoke and baby vegetables with sunchoke custard, spring onion, Thumbelina carrots, spice yogurt and lentil salad
