US Foods Reveals The Newest Food Fanatic Chef
Chef Tom Macrina made his first appearance as newest US Foods' Fan Fanatic Chef at the Great Chefs event in Philadelphia on June 11. According to Business Wire, he is the third chef to gain this title.
Macrina graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Over his 35 years in the food industry he has served as executive chef at top resorts and restaurants and was named Most Honored Chef by Chicago Chefs de Cuisine. He has also taught food and food management classes in the Philadelphia area. As a Food Fanatic Chef, Macrina will work with chefs, restaurateurs, and others in the foodservice industry to help them cultivate and improve their businesses.
His first role at the Great Chefs event, which benefits Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and Vetri Foundation for Children, was to speak with the 40 chefs in attendance, share tips with guests for making meals at home and to observe what trends emerged in the dishes prepared by the chefs.
Macrina will also provide samples of the latest food industry products, host workshops that help identify and create business solutions and offer in-depth menu and recipe analysis.
