A 'UK Disneyland' Is Coming To London

The plans have been released for a theme park just outside of London, and some people are calling it the "U.K.'s Disneyland." However, the London Paramount Entertainment Resort will be more similar to Orlando's Universal Studios than to the Disney parks. Sure, there are designs for the Myths and Legends Castle that resemble Cinderella's Castle, but the park won't feature any Disney characters. Instead, London Paramount will center on storylines from the various Paramount films, such as Transformers and Iron Man, as well as other rides inspired by BBC and Aardman Animations productions.

According to The Telegraph, the London Paramount will have several park zones that go by names such as Land of Legends, Starfleet Command, Adventure Isle, Cartoon Circus, Action Square, Port Paramount, and Entertainment City. The theme park will have a theater that seats 2,000, will feature over 50 rides, and have a "Paramount and Friends Carnival" that'll take place daily in the late afternoon.

London Paramount is set to open in 2022 outside of London in Dartford, Kent, and is expected to cost 3.5 billion pounds to build. As of now, a full-day pass to the park is expected to cost 57 pounds.
