Tom Colicchio, 150 Others To Play Guitar For A Good Cause
Guitarists, food, and drink all in the same place, for a good cause. Where can we sign up?
The second annual Guitar Mash Benefit Concert + Jam will take place at Manhattan's City Winery on Nov. 17 from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m, and none other than Top Chef's Tom Collichio will be jamming out for a good cause.
Other notable attendees include Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Captain Kirk Douglas of The Roots, Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. They and about 150 other guitarists will play in a six-string symphony under the direction of Mark Stewart, Paul Simon's guitarist and musical director.
Tickets range from $50-$500, and proceeds will go towards providing guitars and music education to New York City schools.
All tickets also include a brunch spread provided by Fresh District, Murray's Cheese, Lagunitas Beer, Tito's Handmade Vodka, and more.
Guitarists of all ages are welcome to participate and are encouraged to download the chords and lyrics online before the event. Visit their website for more details.
