Third New York Umami Burger Hitting Williamsburg
West Coast's gourmet burger maven Umami Burger is headed towards Brooklyn. After announcing their first two New York locations (Greenwich Village and the World Financial Center/Brookfield Place), Adam Fleischman's burger joint is apparently opening on 156 N. 4th St., prime scenester crosswalk at N. 4th Street and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg.
"Brooklyn, and especially Williamsburg, has such a thriving food scene," Fleischman, founder and CEO, said in a press release. "We think it's the perfect neighborhood for Umami and are very excited to be a part of it."
The location choice is fairly obvious for hipster-ish Umami; they'll be right down the street from Meatball Shop and Egg, in the middle of Williamsburg's truly gentrified bar scene. Brooklyn might even get their Umami Burgers before the suits over on Wall Street; Williamsburg's location is slated to open late 2013, while Brookfield Place has to wait until 2014. Let's hope for some Mast Brothers collaborations and Smorgasburg appearances.
