In honor of the 11th anniversary of wd~50, a team of 28 of some of the world’s most renowned chefs gathered to throw a surprise tribute dinner for the restaurant’s founder, Wylie Dufresne.
Presented by the avant-garde chefs collaborative Gelinaz!, participating chefs included Daniel Boulud of DANIEL, David Chang of Momofuku, René Redzepi of Noma, Alex Atala of D.O.M., Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, Gabrielle Hamilton of Prune, Magnus Nilsson of Fäviken, and several others.
For the dinner, the chefs divided into teams and were tasked with deconstructing and re-imagining three of Dufresne’s signature dishes, including cold fried chicken with buttermilk-ricotta, tabasco, and caviar, a shrimp noodle dish, and scrambled egg raviolis with charred avocado and Hamachi.
