Looking for a variation on the Old-Fashioned? Look no further. This recipe is warm, woody, and nutty. We love its robust flavors, which offer a hint of sweetness — but this one’s got an explosive cinnamon heart with more fire than candy. Consider this drink for your signature wedding cocktail.

Maker’s Mark is fine, but you if you prefer your drink on the woodier side, select a small-batch or single-barrel bourbon.

  • ½ ounce hazelnut liqueur, such as Nocello
  • ½ ounce cinnamon liqueur, such as Goldschlager
  • 2 ounces bourbon

In a cocktail shaker filled partway with ice, combine ingredients and shake until cold. Strain into an old fashioned glass, and serve either neat or on the rocks.
