Starbucks To Introduce New Greek Yogurt Products In 2014
Starbucks has partnered with Danone to make new Greek yogurt products with Evolution Fresh Brand that will be available in spring of 2014, according to National Restaurant News.
New options will include ready to eat yogurt parfaits that will be available in stores nationally. Soon after, the products will expand to grocery stores, and by 2015, Starbucks aims to go worldwide. The new items come after a "strong customer response to Evolution Fresh offerings" in stores, according to Starbucks' chair, president and chief executive, Howard Schultz told NRN.
Greek yogurt has been taking the market by storm with chains like Pinkberry and TCBY introducing sweet and savory non-frozen and frozen options. Franck Riboud, chief executive of Danone, said that the popularity of Oikos brand Greek yogurt reinforced the appeal of healthy snacks and further encouraged them to distribute via Starbucks.
