Shaq Announces Partnership With AriZona Beverages

The world of sports and the world of soft drinks collide as former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal announced he has created his own line of beverages, called "Soda Shaq."

Shaq announced the launch of the line, which he created with AriZona Beverages, on his Twitter account, @SHAQ with a picture of the four different flavors, vanilla, blueberry, strawberry, and orange, and using the hashtag #sodashaq.

The sodas, which come in AriZona's signature 23.5 ounce cans, were inspired by O'Neal's favorite beverage as a child, he said in a press release as quoted by the Wall Street Journal.

"One of my favorite drinks growing up in Newark as a kid was cream soda; together we made an all star lineup that I'm looking forward to sharing with my fans," O'Neal said.

The taste of Soda Shaq also brings up childhood memories for AriZona Chairman, Don Vultaggio.

"Soda Shaq tastes like the cream sodas that I remember as a kid in Brooklyn," he said in the press release. "We think ours is the best tasting on the market."

The suggested retail for Soda Shaq is $0.99 per can.
