Shakey's Original Bar & Grill: The Ultimate Maple Leafs Bar
As the hockey playoff season kicks in, no better time than to pick your local sports bar to camp out at. Shakey's in Bloor West Village is just the place to be. The Toronto Star points out, "It was opened in the early 1990s by Mike "Shakey" Walton, a native of Kirkland Lake, Ont., and member of the 1967 Stanley Cup-winning Leafs." That means lots of photos from the Stanley Cup win, a "Two Blue" plaque for the bar's longest patron, and obviously, lots of Labatt Blue on tap. You can find some of the city's cheapest draught beers (like the house lager for $5), and decent mixed drinks. Just be forewarned: there's no reservations during playoff season.
