Shake Shack Expands To Long Island

Danny Meyer's Shake Shack empire just keeps growing, with only two months until the opening of its first Brooklyn location. Now, news is Meyer will open a shack on Long Island by late 2012.

The Westbury spot will be located at 900 Old Country Rd., off Meadowbrook State Parkway. No word yet on what their location-specific food menu will contain, but a representative for Shake Shack said that they'll start working on concretes for the Long Island spot in about a year. At least now, suburbanites no longer have to travel to the city for their gourmet fast-food cravings.

Shake Shack also has locations in Washington D.C.; Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Miami, Fla.; Westport, Conn.; and Dubai.
