Ron Eyester’s Timone’s has finally opened, joining the already expansive and eclectic food scene in the Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta, according to Creative Loafing Atlanta.
The 105-seat space is family friendly and has a neighborhood appeal that offers “down-home cooking” and labels itself a “local pizza joint.” The food is inspired by Eyester’s childhood in New York, so the décor follows suit, accented by tin, subway tile, and a fair amount of reclaimed wood and furniture. The restaurant’s bar is composed of high-top tables with a total of 14 seats.
The pizza, in true New York fashion, is made with a thin, chewy, and crispy crust. Options include not only traditional classics like cheese and pepperoni, but also the more adventurous ones like shaved potato, fennel, and house-made Italian sausage. There are also meatball dishes, fried calamari, and even rice balls, so you’re not just limited to pizza when you step in here.
