In honor of National Tequila Day on July 24, Tequila Don Julio would like you to celebrate the authentic flavor of Mexico with its most popular drink, the Paloma.The outcome is one cocktail that has been partly deconstructed to create two great tasting drinks meant to be shared with a friend, and the perfect way to honor Mexico’s most influential spirit on National Tequila Day.

Ingredients
  • 2 ounce don julio (1 ounce for long drink, 1 ounce for deconstructed)
  • 2 1/2 ounce pink grapefruit juice
  • 1/3 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon (vanilla) sugar
  • 1 splash of seltzer
Directions
  1. Add one ounce Don Julio Blanco in highball class; add once ounce in a tasting glass (or shot glass).
  2. Add pink grapefruit juice to the long drink.
  3. Add fresh lime juice and spoon of sugar to the cocktail. Shake well in a shaker and pour over ice, top up with soda and stir.
  4. Sprinkle grapefruit slice with sugar and squeeze lime wedge over the grapefruit.
  5. When drinking the deconstructed serve, bite into the pink grapefruit slice and hold the juice in the mouth then sip Don Julio Blanco from the tasting glass and swallow together.
