St. Patrick’s Day Pretzels

Get the kids involved with a fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day snack. Top pretzels with green candy-coated chocolate treats to create this sweet and salty bite. Recipe courtesy of The Emeals Blog.


You may have to pick the green candies out of a regular bag of candy-coated chocolates.


  • 1 bag chocolate morsels, such as Hersheys Kisses, unwrapped
  • Green candy-coated chocolates, such as M&Ms
  • 1 bag small pretzel
  • ½ Cup confectioners sugar
  • ¼ stick butter
  • Green food coloring
  • 2 Tablespoons milk


Preheat the oven to 200 F. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.

Place the pretzels on the cookie sheet. Place a chocolate morsel on each pretzel. Place the cookie sheet in the oven. Allow chocolates to melt until they become soft. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and promptly press the chocolate flat on the pretzel. Add three green candies to the pretzels to form a three-leaf clover. Allow the pretzels to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, add the sugar, butter, and milk. Add food coloring until you achieve the desired color. The consistency of the mixture should feel like moldable clay. You can keep adding sugar until you achieve desired consistency. Pinch off a piece of the icing and roll the stem of the clover with your fingers, and then add to the pretzel. Enjoy!
