Snickers Pancake

These flapjacks are out of this world, and they're a great way to use leftover Halloween candy, or just cook with Snickers bars any other time of the year. These fun pancakes are a major hit at Hash House A Go Go, which specializes in breakfast, burgers, and of course, hash.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cups buttermilk
  • 2 Tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated white sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Cooking spray
  • 4 miniature Snickers bars, chopped

Directions

Combine the buttermilk and heavy cream in a medium-sized bowl and set aside for 5 minutes. Combine all of the dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Whisk the egg and butter into the milk mixture. Pour the flour mix into the wet ingredients and whisk until the lumps are gone.

Heat a large skillet over a medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour ¼ cup batter per pancake onto the skillet, and top each with 1 chopped miniature Snickers bar. Then cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip and cook until the other side is golden brown.

Pancake Shopping Tip

What’s the difference between brown and white eggs? Besides color, nothing – different breeds of chicken account for the differences in color – quality and freshness are what really count.

Pancake Cooking Tip

In addition to keeping foods like granola, yogurt, and fruit on hand, plan ahead for hectic weekdays by whipping up extra batches of waffles or pancakes and individually freezing them for easy morning meals.
