Rum Java Float

Celebrate National Rum Day Aug. 16 with this grown-up root beer float cocktail

Swap root beer for spiced rum and coffee, and top it off with the essential scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • 2 Ounces spiced rum, preferably Sugar Island
  • 2 1/2 Ounces parts cold brew coffee
  • 1/2 Ounce orgeat syrup
  • Vanilla ice cream


Shake rum, coffee, and orgeat together. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with a scoop of ice cream. Serve immediately.
