It seems that every modern-style bar in the country today has at least a couple of mexcal-based cocktails on their menu. One simple one to make, which balances joven mezcal  beautifully with grapefruit, is a variation on the paloma, typically made with tequila. This refreshing concoction is perfect for spring and Cinco de Mayo fiestas.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces joven mezcal, such as Ilegal Joven
  • .5 Ounce lime juice
  • 2 Ounces grapefruit juice
  • club soda

Directions

Combine mezcal, lime juice, grapefruit juice in a cocktail shaker.

Strian into a cocktail glass and top off with club soda.

Enjoy.
