New York Sour

The secret to this Whiskey Sour variation is a bit of red wine. Try the classic New York Sour.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces rye whiskey or bourbon
  • 3/4 Ounces simple syrup (1 part sugar, 1 part water)
  • 1/2 Ounce red wine
  • 1 Ounce fresh lemon juice

Directions

Add all the ingredients except the wine to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Slowly pour the wine over the back of a spoon so that it floats on top of the drink.
