Marshmallows aren't just for the campfire during the summer, and can easily be used to make a sticky and delicious Halloween treat. This recipe uses Rice Krispies to add an element of crunch.
- 1 bag marshmallows
- 2 Tablespoons butter, plus extra for greasing
- 1 Cup dried fruit
- 1/2 Cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 Cup chocolate chips
- 4 Cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/4 Cup shredded coconut
In a sauce pan over medium-heat, melt the butter and the marshmallows together. Remove from the heat and add the fruit, nuts, chocolate chips, and cereal and mix well. Using the extra butter, coat a 9-by-9 inch pan. Place the marshmallow mixture into the pan and smooth it out so that it reaches all of the edges. Sprinkle the coconut on top and press down to compress. Let cool and serve.
