Winter is a good time for indulging in a little anglophilia: Downton Abbey is on, and gin can actually be delicious warmed. Give this unusual punch recipe a try.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounce beefeater 24
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 4 ounce full-bodied red wine
  • orange slice
  • lemon slice
  • orange peel stuck with cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Heat all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer till honey has dissolved. Pour into a toddy glass and drink while still warm.
