We normally put marshmallows on top of hot chocolate, but have you ever had a marshmallow that tastes like hot chocolate? Now you can, with this recipe from DAVIDs TEA.

Hot Chocolate Tea Infused Marshmallows
Ingredients
  • 2 perfect spoonfuls of tea, such as davids tea hot chocolate tea
  • 1 cup water, divided into halves
  • 1 teaspoon half & half, heavy cream or non-dairy alternative
  • 3 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • non-stick spray
  • powdered sugar
  • cocoa powder
Directions
  1. Steep tea in a ½ cup of hot water for 5 minutes and strain into a stand mixer bowl, fitted with the whisk attachment. Add half & half or cream alternative and gelatin, and mix until dissolved.
  2. In a medium saucepan add remaining ½ cup of water, sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Set to medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Let boil for 3-4 minutes, being careful not to let it boil over.
  3. Add heated sugar mixture in a slow stream to the stand mixer bowl, set to low speed. Add vanilla and increase speed to high, whipping for about 15-20 minutes. The mixture will thicken and cool.
  4. Spray and 8-by-8 or other shallow baking dish with non-stick spray and coat with powdered sugar. Pour in marshmallow mixture and let sit for at least 5 hours.
  5. Using a greased pizza roller or knife, cut into 1 by 1 squares.
  6. Add 4 tablespoons powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon cocoa powder into a gallon sized bag. Place in marshmallows and shake to coat.
