T'was one of the struggles of childhood, getting the straw correctly into your Capri Sun pouch. And, with recent reports of mold being found in the pouches, you may be better off crafting your own pouches at home. With this recipe from Simply Love Food, you will never face the agony of a busted juice pouch ever again. (oh, and pro-tip! But these in the freezer and bring them to the pool for a slushy treat.)
- 1 1/2 Cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 8 Cups filtered water
- 3/4 - 1 Cups raw agave nectar (depending on sweetness)
- fresh lemon and lime slices to garnish
- 8 zip top bags
In a large pitcher mix all the ingredients. Pour the mixture into each bag and garnish with fresh lemon and lime slices. Store in the refrigerator. When ready to drink, unzip slightly and insert straw.
