With the Super Bowl just about a month away, it’s about time you start thinking about the delectable recipes you’re going to make. La Brea Bakery has some amazing game-day ideas that you’re going to love.


  • 4 rolls, such as La Brea Bakery telera slider rolls
  • 1 Pound ground sirloin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of cheese, such as English Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 Tablespoons spicy mayonnaise
  • 4 pieces of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato


Preheat the broiler to 375 degrees F.

Toast the telera rolls until golden brown.

Divide ground sirloin into 4 portions and make ¼-inch thick patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper.

Place patties on a baking sheet and put under broiler until cooked through, about two minutes per side. 

Turn off heat and add cheese on to each burger. Keep under the broiler until the cheese has melted.

To build burger, place the buns crumb side up on a smooth surface and add ¼ teaspoon spicy mayonnaise to each side. Place lettuce on bottom bun and then add the cheeseburger. Top with tomato, remaining telera roll, and serve.

Think twice before buying a thicker piece of meat; a 2-inch thick steak takes four times (not twice) as long as 1-inch thick steak to cook.

If you're cooking something that's been marinated, make sure to pat the item dry before it hits the grill. Any sugar in the marinade will burn.
