- 1/2 Cup hot water
- 4 perfect spoonfuls of tea, such as DAVID’s TEA banana nut bread tea
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 Cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 Cup flour
- 1 Teaspoon baking soda
- 1 Teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/3 Cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/3 Cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Pour ½ cup boiling water over tea and set aside for at least 5 minutes.
In large bowl, mash bananas, sugar, egg, and butter until well blended, then without straining, pour over tea and mix.
Add flour, baking soda, and salt, and stir until the batter just comes together, then fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
Pour into a buttered 9-by-5 loaf pan and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
