‘Dat Eye Opener

Down south, New Orleans offers distinctive and indigenous world famous cuisine.  We've replaced typical red tomato juice with green tomato juice and added local Creole seasonings.

Ingredients

'Dat Eye Opener

  • 1 1/2 Ounce vodka
  • 3 Ounces green tomato Bloody Mary Mix
  • Ounce pickled okra

Bloody Mary Mix

  • 1 1/2 Cup green tomato juice
  • 3/4 Ounces lemon juice
  • 3/4 Ounces lime juice
  • 1 Tablespoon horesradish
  • 1/4 Ounce Worcestershire
  • 1/4 Ounce green Tabasco
  • 1/4 Ounce Creole Seasoning
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper

Creole Seasoning

  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons salt
  • 2 Tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon dried thyme

Directions

'Dat Eye Opener

Method: Combine ingredients in a mixing glass.  Add ice, and pour into rocks glass.  Garnish with pickled okra. 

 

Bloody Mary Mix

Green Tomato Juice: Core and quarter green tomatoes.  Cook tomatoes in salted boiling water for 3 minutes and then immediately transfer to ice bath.  Process tomatoes in a blender and strain out solids.
