Cocktail Bar has created a handcrafted bourbon cocktail called the Cynical Parrot, using local honey that’s been barrel-aged in Negroni 3 times over the past 2 years, resulting in a citrusy tang with bitter herbs and very mellow oak spice. At 2012 Tales of the Cocktail, the honey was so intense for tasters, the hotel decided to serve it as a shot with beer.
The cocktail also includes Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon, straight from the first barrel of the hotel’s unique barrel exchange partnership with other cocktail leaders in the city called The New Orleans Spirits Exchange, or NOSE. Cocktail Bar has become one of the forerunners in the city with its specialty cocktails since its renovation last year and through its involvement in NOSE is able to offer even greater products to patrons.
- 1.25 Ounces Barrel-Aged Honey Syrup
- 1.5 Ounces Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon
- 1 Ounce Lemon juice
- 1 egg white
- .25 Ounce Herbsaint
- 1 Ounce Velvet Falernum
