Coconut-Covered Brigadeiros

These Brazilian “truffles” are proof that good things come in small packages. Made with just two basic ingredients — sweetened condensed milk and coconut— they make the perfect decadent treat when you’re short on time or ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • Butter, for rolling
  • Shredded coconut, for rolling

Directions

Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a small saucepan and place the pan over medium-high heat.

Stirring constantly, cook the sweetened condensed milk until thickened. You’ll know it’s ready when you draw a line through the sweetened condensed milk and it takes a few seconds for the line to fill itself back in.

Pour the cooked sweetened condensed milk into a wide, shallow dish (like a heat-proof baking dish) and allow it to cool.

When the sweetened condensed milk has cooled, rub a small amount of butter on your hands and then roll the sweetened condensed milk into small balls. Roll each ball into shredded coconut.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.
