Classic Potato Pancakes

The ultimate comfort food made easy

There are many different versions of the potato pancake from around the world. This is my favorite version of the classic. I like to eat it with sourcream and applesauce, or opt for yogurt if you want something healthier.


  • 1 Pound russet potatoes, grated
  • 1/2 onion, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 Cup bread flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt


Combine all the ingredients.

In a cast iron pan, on medium heat, fry the pancakes until golden brown.

Serve with sour cream and applesauce.
