This delicious cake batter French toast is a sweet delicious treat for morning and can even double as a dessert. Here we use Betty Crocker lemon cake mix, but any cake mix flavor can be substituted.
Ingredients
- 5 slices stale bread
- 1 Cup dry Betty Crocker lemon cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 Cup whole milk
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
- Butter, for frying
Directions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake mix, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
Melt the butter in a non-stick fryin pan on medium-high. Dip the slices of bread into the cake batter custard. Cook the slices in the frying pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until both sides are a golden brown.
Serve with powdered sugar, preserves, and syrup.
