Blood Orange Margarita

Every Mexican feast needs this vibrant blood orange margarita

This vibrant, bright cocktail  . Make the most of the season’s beautiful blood oranges by enjoying them in this punchy margarita.

This recipe was created by Ricardo Schargel, lead bartender at The Bazaar in Miami.


  • 1 1/2 Ounce tequila blanco
  • 3/4 Ounces blood orange liquor
  • 1 Ounce blood orange purée
  • 1/2 Ounce serrano pepper syrup
  • 1/2 Ounce lime juice
  • Sal de Gusano, for garnish
  • Slice of blood orange, for garnish


Pour tequila, blood orange liquor, blood orange purée, serrano pepper syrup, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker filled partway with ice. Shake until cold.

Press the rim of the glass into the Sal de Gusano to coat.

Strain margarita into the glass and garnish with a slice of blood orange.
