Ingredients
  • 16 ounce new york strip steak (neatly trimmed)
  • 1 ounce blackening spice
  • 1 tablespoon achiote paste
  • 2 tablespoon blended oil
  • pinch of salt & pepper
Directions
  1. Place cast iron pan on stove for 20 minutes before starting recipe. Using the blended oil mix achiote paste together and cover steak with paste on both sides. Sear steak each side for 8 minutes or until 110 degree temperature is achieved and let steak rest for 3 minutes.
