Everyone knows how to cook with beer, but did you know you can cook with hard root beer? This sweet and spicy barbecue sauce is sure to make your burgers stand out this summer.
This recipe is courtesy of BEST DAMN Brewing Co. It was created by Chef Michael Ferraro.
Ingredients
- 4 12-ounce bottles hard root beer, preferably BEST DAMN Root Beer
- 64 Ounces ketchup
- 8 Ounces Dijon mustard
- 2 1/2 Ounces brown sugar
- 8 Ounces red wine vinegar
- 2 1/2 Ounces molasses
- 2 Ounces sherry vinegar
- 1/8 Ounce cayenne pepper
- 4 Tablespoons sriracha
- 2 Tablespoons butter
Directions
In a large stainless steel pot, add ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, molasses, sherry vinegar, and cayenne pepper.
Whisk to combine. Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Add BEST DAMN Root Beer, butter, and sriracha whisk to combine, and simmer for another 30 minutes.
Cool over ice bath; store.
