This Riviera Maya hotel has a special way of making guacamole besides the traditional like adding fresh cheese, pomegranate seeds, and even chorizo. But their specialty is grasshoppers as well!

Ingredients

  • ½ white onion
  • 1 serrano pepper
  • 1 tablespoons. salt
  • 2 tablespoons. cilantro
  • 2 limes
  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 20 grasshoppers per person

Directions

Mix finely chopped onion with finely chopped pepper and salt. Add chopped cilantro and  lime juice. Add chopped avocado and mix it with the rest of ingredients (don’t mash it). Adjust seasoning to taste. Top with grasshoppers, and serve. Recipe is for 4 people.
