Bellini Manhattan

There’s nothing quite like a gold Grammy, except maybe a golden cherry on top of your cocktail

There’s something special about Chicago’s Chance the Rapper, an independent emcee who’s nominated for seven Grammys this year. This golden cocktail, featuring a blend of bourbon, peach purée, and Champagne, is just as special as he is.

This recipe is courtesy of Maker’s Mark Bourbon. Created by Kathy Casey, host of Kathy Casey’s Liquid Kitchen.

For the gold-gilded maraschino cherry:

  • 1/2 Cup maraschino cherries, drained well and dried
  • 1/4 Teaspoon gold luster dust

For the cocktail:

  • 1 1/2 Ounce bourbon, preferably Maker’s Mark
  • 1/2 Ounce peach purée
  • 3/4 Ounces sweet red vermouth
  • 1 Dash of orange bitters or Liquid Kitchen Golden Era
  • 3/4 Ounces brut Champagne
  • Gold-gilded maraschino cherry, for garnish

For the gold-gilded maraschino cherry:

Make the cherries in the container in which you are going to store them. It is important that the cherries are well-drained.

Place the cherries in the container and add the luster dust.

Stir gently to coat cherries in gold.

Store refrigerated for up to 3 days.

For the cocktail:

Fill a mixing glass with ice.

Measure in the bourbon, peach purée, and vermouth.

Add a dash of bitters. Cap and shake.

Strain into large martini glass.

Add a splash of Champagne. Garnish with gold gilded maraschino cherry on a pick.
