Maple syrup (in season right now) makes for an easy substitute for your cocktails made with simple syrup. Try it with a white rum (like Brugal Extra Dry), citrus, and basil for a surprising spring cocktail.
Muddle tangerine in a cocktail shaker. Combine Brugal, juice, syrup, and basil on top of tangerine. Shake with ice, and fine strain into a Coupe. Garnish with a basil leaf.
