Carrot, Apple and Turmeric Smoothie

The three base ingredients in this smoothie are excellent sources of nutrients that are heart-healthy and may prevent certain types of cancer.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup coconut water
  • 1 bunch carrots (4 or 5, cut into 2 inch pieces)
  • 1 apple cut into 4 pieces (I used Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 Teaspoon honey optional
  • 3 cubes ice

Directions

Mix all ingredients in a high-powered blender.

If the smoothie is too thick add more coconut water.

If it's too thin add another cube of ice or another carrot.
