Presidential Candidate-Themed Burrito Bowls; No Fried Twinkies For Obama

Fast-casual chain California Tortilla unveiled their 2012 Presidential Burrito Bowls this week, which will be available through Monday, Nov. 3. This is the fifth election cycle during which the chain has introduced special products designed with the candidates in mind. Both of the bowls this year come with a toothpick featuring the candidate's face.

Obama's Chicken Teriyaki Luau Bowl includes Mexican rice, grilled chicken, teriyaki sauce, stir-fried vegetables, grilled pineapple spears, and is garnished with chopped green onions.

Romney's Mexican Mitt-Loaf Bowl includes grilled Mexican meatloaf, fresh mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, a sweet and savory sauce, corn, and salsa, garnished with chopped green onions.

In other campaign-related news, to kick off his three-day tour of Iowa this week, President Obama addressed a crowd of supporters in Council Bluffs yesterday afternoon. During his speech, Obama mentioned that he would try to stop by the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, remarking, according to Obama Foodorama, "Michelle has told me I cannot have a fried Twinkie, but I will be checking out the butter cow and I understand this year there's a chocolate moose. So I'm going to have to take a look at that if I can."
