The Pit Authentic Barbecue's Coleslaw


This coleslaw is the perfect cool flavor to compliment the hot and tangy barbecue from Eastern North Carolina and is one of the more than a dozen sides from executive chef Darrell Brown's menu at The Pit.


  • 2 Cups Duke's Whipped Salad Dressing
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon French's yellow mustard
  • 3/4 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • A dash of salt and pepper
  • 2 Pounds green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 1/2 Ounces red cabbage, shredded
  • 2 Ounces carrots


Mix all the ingredients together well in a large bowl.  Serve before chilling.
