As we reported last month, Olivier Martinez's Miami restaurant, Villa Azur, a South of France-meets-South Beach eatery, was in the works. And this past weekend, Martinez, Michael Martin, and Jean-Phillipe Bernard celebrated the opening of their restaurant.
At the event, some attendees were curious about the unconfirmed engagement between Martinez to actress Halle Berry. The answer was simple: "Yes, of course it's true," Martinez told People.
He also revealed that it took a lot of work to find the perfect ring, even taking the time to take an alchemy test. The French actor was quizzed on the Oscar-winning actress' favorite shapes, numbers, and designs, as well as other things.
Robert Mazlo of Paris, the jewelery designer behind the stunner, told People, "The ring is textured and contains codes and symbols which you cannot see… only the person wearing it can. It’s very uncommon. The symbols and codes represent [the couple's] story and only they can interpret it."
The 4-carat, flawless stone is said to cost well into the five-figure range, but who's putting a price tag on love? Definitely not Olivier Martinez.
