Top Chef Kerry Heffernan To Open New Restaurant

The Daily Meal has received news that Top Chef and Eleven Madison Park alum chef Kerry Heffernan will be opening a new restaurant soon. Although details on the new spot have not yet been released, Heffernan has hinted that the restaurant will feature sustainable seafood local to his home base on Long Island, so it's safe to say that the restaurant will definitely be located in the immediate New York metro area.

Expect unique dishes like bluefish "wings" (the tender cheek and collar of the bluefish, on the bone, which tastes like an under-sea chicken wing), fresh ceviche, and — since it is Long Island, after all — plenty of clams and oysters from Montauk and Sag Harbor.

Heffernan, who is also known for his creation of the Shake Shack burger, spends quite a bit of time talking about (and catching!) his own sustainable seafood, all in preparation for his upcoming cookbook on foraging, fishing, and cooking on the eastern end of Long Island. More details to come on this new restaurant venture.
