Susan Feniger's Mud Hen Tavern Opening December 7
The STREET team has just announced the opening of its latest venture, Mud Hen Tavern, taking over the old STREET space in Hollywood, Calif.
Susan Feniger and company are opening Mud Hen Tavern Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. for dinner, followed by "limitless" weekend brunch at 11 a.m, beginning the weekend after the opening. ($25 per person for unlimited small plates, plus $15 bottomless cocktails).
"I've always wanted to open a casual neighborhood spot, and this side of town was in need of a bar and restaurant that just serves really great food and drinks that people can come back for every day," Feniger said in a press release.
On the menu: an ode to Green Eggs & Ham, pumpkin ravioli, and whiskey maple-braised short ribs. Even better, the bar program (led by Morgan Fox) features a French 75-esque float, made with Aviation gin, Pavan liqueur, lemon juice, peach purée, and Angostura bitters. Expect "exciting twists to some of those old tavern favorites," partner Kajsa Alger said in a press release.
The tavern is named after Toledo, Ohio's hockey team, the Mud Hens. "I have fond childhood memories of going to baseball games with my dad in Toledo, Ohio, to watch The Mud Hens play. Afterward, we'd always wander over to the local bar Andre's to get sandwiches and argue about the best plays and worst errors of the game with the neighbors," Feniger said.
No final menu yet, but we'll have more information as it comes.
