Starbucks Is Rolling Out A Line Of Sodas

As if you needed another excuse to go to Starbucks, the coffee giant has announced it will be rolling out a line of gourmet sodas called Fizzio this summer for Starbucks locations in the "Sun Belt" (or most of the South) as it looks to increase sales during non-morning hours. The flavors will include ginger ale, spiced root beer, and lemon ale, and will be made with no artificial flavors, preservatives, or high fructose corn syrup.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz described the sodas as "all-natural, preservative-free alternatives to sugar-filled sodas with a theater of a custom handcrafted beverage that I am convinced will be a big hit with consumers."

More flavors are expected to arrive after the beverages launch in late June. No word yet on whether the carbonated drinks will be hitting other areas of the country yet, but a Starbucks representative told The Daily Meal that if these do well, they would be open to expansion.
