This week’s product round-up includes lots of ice cream and cool desserts to welcome the warm weather, plus a glazed doughnut liqueur, green Sriracha, and more.
Milkbars from Magnolia: Since 1972, the Ramar Foods Company has been creating tropically-inspired frozen treats in Northern California. The all natural ice cream contains only California milk and whole fruit purées, plus one line of milkbars made with brewed Thai tea. Other refreshing flavors include avocado, coconut, guava, lychee, mango, and purple yam. Recently, the West Coast-based company has expanded distribution to select groceries in New Jersey and New York.
Ice Pops from GoodPop: First created in 2009 by Daniel Goetz, GoodPops are all natural, gluten-free, and are newly available through Fresh Direct. Flavors include Hibiscus Mint, Banana Cinnamon Coldbrew Coffee, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Agave, and the newest addition, Chocolate Milk.
Klondike Kandy Bars from Klondike: An imagined romance between “Klondike Bar” and “Candy Bar” brought us the Klondike Kandy bars, which are the frozen dessert versions of a few classic candy bars. The bars come in three flavors: Cookies & Cream, Fudge Krunch, and Caramel & Peanuts.
Breakfast-Inspired Liqueurs from Mama Walker’s: Mama Walker’s will be celebrating “National Breakfast for Dinner Day” with three breakfast-inspired liqueurs: Glazed Donut, Blueberry Pancake, and Maple Bacon. If you’re so inclined, Mama Walker’s has included a few cocktail recipes, including one called “So Fresh & So Clean,” featuring the Blueberry Pancake liqueur.
WTRMLN WTR from We Grow Water: This cold-pressed watermelon juice consists of watermelon flesh, watermelon rind, lemon, and nothing else. It tastes exactly like healthy watermelon, which means that its target demographic is someone more noble than myself. Personally, I’ll stick to eating my watermelons in the flesh, but the juice is non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegan. The bottle is even BPA-free.
Midori Sriracha and Japanese Spicy Mayo from Musashi Foods: The newly formed Musashi Foods makes only two products: A spicy version of Japanese mayonnaise and a green version of Sriracha that was inspired by the at-home experiments of founder Gideon Sarraf with Sriracha sauce. .
Treats from Lisa Ann Desserts: Lisa Cron channels her love of sweets into her growing wholesale baking company. From classic cookies like chocolate chip and snickerdoodles, to small bites like butterscotch bars and “brownie bliss pops,” Lisa offers an impressive range of treats, all made from scratch.
Hornitos Black Barrel Tequila and Lime Shot: The new Black Barrel Tequila from Hornitos is a triple-aged agave tequila with whiskey notes, designed to please both whiskey and tequila fans. It’s also 80 proof, so there’s that.
In light of the recent lime shortage, Hornitos also has the Lime Shot, which is meant to tide us over until the limes are safe again. With Cinco de Mayo on the way, it’s probably not a terrible idea to stock up.
